Overall Site Rules
Maturity is a must
if you would like to be a part of the DCRPG community. Always think before you speak and never start unnecessary drama with other members or staff. Take responsibility for your own actions at all times and be prepared for any consequences that may ensue.
Everyone deserves to be respected. Members of DCRPG should be respectful and civil toward all other members of the DCRPG community. Discrimination, cruel behavior toward others, and the creation of unnecessary drama is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. If you feel as if you have been disrespected or discriminated against, contact the Administrator or a staff member immediately for assistance.
Not everyone has the same opinion as you, so it is best to be open minded about others’ opinions. This is the internet and comments should be taken with a grain of salt. Hostile arguments are not acceptable in the public forum and should be taken to private message--if you feel that you cannot come to common grounds with another member, ignore them or ask the Administrator or a Critic for assistance.
Harassment in any way, shape, or form will not be tolerated on DCRPG. We want all members of the community to feel safe at all times. If you feel as if you have been harassed--whether it is through PM or on the forum--contact the Administrator or a staff member immediately. For PM harassment, forward the PM to a staff member or click the "report" button on for the specific PM, while with forum harassment, click the “Report” button.
Spelling and Grammar
Proper spelling and grammar are required when posting messages in the different forums--save for the forum games where it may not be required in all games. Most web browsers come with a spell check that checks your spelling instantly or with a click of a button. We do not want to have to decode what you’re saying-- this is also why there is to be no l33t speak or excessive text talk.
Linking to other websites--this includes personal websites and forums--is permissible within conversation; however, off-site linking should only be done when it pertains to the discussion at hand and not solely for the purpose of advertising your site or forum. Furthermore, your link can in NO WAY discredit Dream City RPG
and must follow all of our rules that have been set in place. You make link to your website in your profile and signature, in addition to in Advertising Avenue
One Account per Person
Double accounts are not acceptable on DCRPG. There is no reason to have multiple accounts; if you are having a problem with your original account, please use the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of the forum.
Though we try to make sure that the content of DCRPG is never deleted, there is always a chance of something happening. It would be within your best interest to make sure that you have a backup copy of all of your work in case something were to go wrong, such as a database malfunction.
Plagiarism of any kind will not be accepted on DCRPG. Give credit where credit is due. Do not copy content from another site without the owner of said content’s permission.
Copying Site Content
Copying any content from DCRPG will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, forum images, rules, guidelines, members’ work, role-play ideas, etc. If it is found that you have copied any content from DCRPG without permission, you will be reported and action will be taken against you.
At DCRPG we want everyone to feel welcomed and not feel as if they are labeled based on their roleplay skill level; though there is no word count minimum or maximum, if you persistently write one-liners, we cannot guarantee that you will acquire and keep roleplays here. Give your partner(s) something to work with. Emoticons and asterisk are not acceptable while in character; members should write out their actions and emotions. DCRPG is a place to learn and grow, everyone has to start somewhere and we are more than willing to help you take those first steps.
Keep OOC in OOC
All out of character conversation should remain outside of the roleplay you are participating in. If there is no plot thread available for plot discussion, planning should be held in PM or a thread should be created to do so.
Administrators have the final say in DCRPG matters. They hold the right to alter the rules in any way without notice if they so choose. Furthermore, Admins and Moderators hold the right to warn and/or ban any person(s) who may break any of the above rules.
